This aspect of the program has been established to stengthen and support the wairua of individuals and community groups. It's aim is to koha Matariki He Maramataka Māori, to encourage and develop knowledge, growth and understanding of te rao and te ao māori, enhancing social, cultural, environmental and economic prosperity and well-being for nourishing the soul.

Eligibility

  1. Individuals and/or community groups committed to rebuilding mana within their own lives.
  2. Individuals and/or community groups who give their time voluntarily to the rebuilding of other peoples lives within their own whanau or local community.

2  Tikanga Whakaaro Me Mātauranga Cultural Awareness & Education

This aspect of the program has been established by matakite to enhance and promote development, understanding and awareness of Matariki as a system of time, te reo māori as a common language in daily life for all New Zealanders and cultural aspects of te ao māori by way of exhibitions, hui, presentations, media interviews and web presence.
